Your Favorite Organic Products Reviewed

I’m so excited to finally be doing a few product reviews. Today I’m going to be focusing on my laundry products since I use them the most frequently. (Towels, sheets, clothes, etc…) But this was such an easy transition to make, I think a lot of people need to reconsider their laundry choices.

Let’s start with some dryer sheets. These changed my life completely because they’re recyclable. Which, ps, I never even thought about how wasteful it is to just throw them away. I probably go through three or four sheets a week and never thought twice about it before tossing them in the garbage until I found these bad boys. Mrs. Meyer’s has a couple of different dryer sheet scents to choose from (lemon verbena, lavender, geranium, basil, and honeysuckle) with my favorite being lavender. The ingredients used to make these sheets are 99% naturally derived and are totally compostable.

I will say that I’ve found that, despite their environmental friendliness, they aren’t too nice on your wallet. They’re about a buck or two more than your average dryer sheet. But, too be honest, I find the scent to be less harsh than the sheets I used to use. Plus, I feel much better recycling them versus the alternative!

My favorite part about this laundry detergent is that the scent is almost nonexistent, which is great because I’m so in love with the fabric softener (below) that I don’t want anything to interfere with it. Don’t be fooled by the lack of perfume-y smell, it knocks the shit out of odors. My mat towel is reused a few times before I toss it in the washer and the nasty mildew-y sweat smell is magically gone.

I’m a big fan of this product for the obvious reasons (it works!) and because it’s EPA certified – which basically means it meets their human health and enivornmental criteria. You can even recycle the bag when you’ve used all of the packs! If you’re a big fan of overwhelming scents, this probably isn’t the product for you.

Price wise, it’s about the same as your standard laundry packs, so you’re not missing out on any savings.

I saved my most favorite laundry product for last. This fabric softener is intense. It’s made from essential oils and botanical extracts, and the scent is fabulous. It totally makes up for the lack of scent the detergent has. As with the detergent, it’s never been tested on animals and is certified cruelty-free.

I was also impressed by the price. At Target, it’s super cost effective so you won’t be breaking the bank to stay  environmentally friendly.

I do have to stay that this is probably my favorite of all of the above products. I love the scent and I think it truly works wonders on all of my clothes. Overall, I have to say that I’ll probably never go back to Tide or All or whatever. These products proved to me that you don’t have to sacrifice quality or price to do the right thing environmentally.

Try them out for yourself and let me know what you think!

Hi Kylie, Thanks for posting this article. I am one of those who always has to shop around before trying something new and so, I love reading product reviews.

I would like to add another natural laundry product to the above list. It is a homemade powdered castille soap scented with heavenly essential oils and earth-friendly minerals. This laundry soap is actually much more affordable than other eco-friendly detergents in the market.
